PEEL BACK THE LAYERS

An interactive experience through photojournalism and design.

peel back the layers - about

Peel Back the Layers is an interactive book of individual stories about a diverse group of people and how their background shaped who they are now. These stories are collected through conversational interviews and candid photoshoots to really capture who they are. The interactions and visuals, though minor, are there to help enhance the experience and keep the readers intrigued and invested in the stories. We try to capture who they are through the designs by keeping in touch with them throughout the design process, asking them about what their colors are, what moods they are trying to convey, and what pattern or designs they love.

Books Indira, Juelle, and MD Kabir were designed, and crafted by Fannie.
Book Eric Hu was designed, and crafted by Daniel Park.
Photography seen was a collaborative effort by both Daniel and Fannie.
